Closure of Alpe d’huez Ski Area for February holidays
After several weeks of waiting, we are deeply saddened to announce that the ski lifts of Alpe d’Huez will remain closed for the 2020-2021 winter season.
In spite of the strict health measures implemented since last autumn, intense efforts to prepare the ski area and teams impatient to welcome you for another season, the French authorities have decided not to authorise our opening this winter due to the current health crisis.
We look forward to seeing you again before too long in the Alpe d’Huez ski area, and we will keep you informed of opening informations.
In the meantime, the shops, hotels and other accommodation providers of Alpe d’Huez remain open so that you can still enjoy a holiday in the fresh air.

Since 2005, Alpe d'Huez has replaced several obsolete ski lifts with a single, more efficient and modern wide-body.
In total, 150 pylons as well as 50 km of cables have been removed in 6 years.
The objective is to optimize the flow but also to eliminate the number of pylons in order to take into account the landscape integration.
