Beneath the snow of Lac Blanc, at 2,700 m, the ice cave is carved out each season by two high-mountain guides, Bruno Gardent and Bernard Lambolez. Every winter, sculptors reinvent it around a new theme: in 2025/2026, an African safari featuring around thirty snow and ice sculptures.
Lighting effects highlight the artworks and create striking photo opportunities. A perfect stop during a day of skiing, or a high-altitude outing for non-skiers.

Your experience, step by step
The temperature inside the cave remains at -1°C, so keep your gloves and hat on. The floor can be slippery; pedestrians are advised to wear shoes with good grip.
The colours look better without using a flash. Consider combining your visit with a break at Lac Blanc, or with the guided Pic Blanc tour, which includes entry to the ice cave.
